The Youth Opportunity Center works in partnership with the Workforce Development Council Snohomish County, Everett Community College, Employment Security Department, Superintendent of Public Instruction State of Washington, Marysville Public Schools and Seattle Public Schools to provide a one stop service center for youth 16 to 21 years of age.

Career Readiness

For dropout youth, ages 16 to 21, whose goal is to improve reading, writing and math skills, obtain a GED and become employed.  Classes take place at CCA’s Learning Center in central Everett, and include life skills and career exploration activities.  Two Certified teachers and two educational assistants lead students through a variety of lessons and activities in the learning center.  Professional case managers assist students with career exploration and life skill development.  Students will also receive assistance from a job developer to address employment issues and place students in short term training with local companies in order to gain job readiness skills.

Youth Re-Engagement (U-3)

The U-3 program is a cooperative effort between Everett Community College, Monroe Public Schools and CCA. This program provides educational opportunities with a strong connection to career development and professional technical job training to out-of-school youth, ages 16-21, who have not earned a high school diploma.

Ambassadors of Student Knowledge Program (A.S.K)

In partnership with Superintendent of Public Instruction State of Washington, this program works with juniors in high school   from migrant families. The A.S.K. program will help students to build self-awareness, self-confidence, leadership abilities, and broaden student’s knowledge of the importance of higher education, careers, and goal setting.

Marysville Public Schools

In partnership with the Marysville Public Schools, CCA provides academic instruction for students living within the Marysville School District who wish to improve reading, writing, and math skills, in order to earn school credit or obtain a GED.   Classes take place at CCA’s Learning Center in central Everett, and work with two certified teachers to meet their educational goal.   Professional case managers assist students with career exploration and life skill development.  Each student also works with a   job developer and case manager to pursue employment or higher education.

Seattle Public Schools

This partnership allows students from districts outside of Marysville to receive services through the CCA Learning Center.  Students are enrolled in the Seattle Public School system but attend classes in Everett.  Classes are taught for academic improvement of skills, GED preparation, and job readiness.  Professional case management and job development services are provided to students under the Seattle Public Schools program.
